REALIZE - Review it to see where it lies.
REALIZE - Review it to see where it lies.
Goals must be reviewed if the agreed benefits will be realized or not.
So, here are some questions for you to ponder on...
How real are the goals that you have for this year?
Have you reviewed them to ascertain that they are realisable?
You cannot realize anything that has no end-result or expected end. Constant review of your goals doesn't ridicule your ability to achieve them but just to confirm the relevance of the goals to your overall dream.
This year is temporary and will surely come to an end but the beauty of the year will be the realisation of those goals that you've set to achieve this year.
The reason why many people don't end up achieving their goals is because they fail to review the goal to see where it lies or where it will end (i.e. What will be the end-result)
Also, take time out to review your self through self-examination and see if there's need for adjustment or restructuring. Without review, you might be going on the path of destruction but when you constantly review your life and your goals, it will help you to re-adjust and to put things back in order if they've deviated to a wrong path.
As the year is still very fresh and new, it is still possible for you to make plans and work towards achieving your goals but you have to ensure that you constantly take time to review your goal/plan, to see where it lies.
Thank you.

ACTUALIZE - Act To See where it Lies.
ACTUALIZE - Act to see where it lies.
Act on that which you've seen as possible.
Act to develop yourself more and more.
Act on those goals that you have set but are yet to be fulfilled.
Act as if today was your last day.
Act to make this life a better place for yourself and others.
It is nice to plan but it's equally essential to stick to the plans; because your actions are the paths that will lead you to where you're going.
You don't get to finish a journey by mere thinking about the journey alone but when you act on which medium to use in getting to your destination.
Don't just dream but act to reflect what you've seen.
Lastly, I challenge you to please act on that dream of yours, no matter how impossible it may look or sound.
Just act on it and see where it lies.
Thank you.

CONCEPTUALIZE - Think of a Concept and See where it Lies.
CONCEPTUALIZE - Think of a concept and see where it lies.
Is your concept valuable?
Is your concept achievable?
Is your concept profitable?
These are vital questions toward what you're likely to see through the lenses of your 'conceptualised eyes'.
When you generate a concept in your mind, it is just a thought but it takes a little bit of effort to proceed further.
Do the following three things about your thought (i.e. Concept) and you would have achieved a certain level of progress.
1.) Believe in the thought.
2.) Document the thought.
3.) Begin to work on the thought.
To me, every concept must go through these three stages before it becomes a reality. Many concepts die at the first stage while a lot more of the concepts do not make it through to the third stage of the concept development, as highlighted above.
To achieve anything, it must first be conceived in the mind and from that instance you have to ensure that you see where the concept lies; else you might just be working on a dead concept without any life in it.
So, today I challenge you with this...
If you can see where your concept lies, please believe in it, document it and start working on it.
Thank you.

VISUALIZE - View To See Where it Lies!
VISUALISE - View To See Where it Lies.
What can you see in yourself?
What can you see in this year 2017?
What can you see in that situation that you've going through?
Are you seeing possibility or difficulties?
Are you seeing positivity or negativity?
Are you seeing opportunities or threats?
Ask yourself these questions, because what you see today will determine where you'll lie tomorrow; if you'll end up lying in a place of rest or hardship...
Think Distinctively, think Differently and don't Diminish!!!

Call to RESCUE!!!

Meet the new guy in your neighbourhood!

Timely Plan vs Yearly Plan.
Oh, what a privilege to be able to share this with you all and I'm really excited about it.
It's that time of the year again when goals will be set for the year 2017 and everyone is all getting ready to start doing something new and dropping some old habits behind.
I commend you for taking these bold steps and I hope they all pay off at the end.
However, there is something critical that I believe is missing from all of these preparations and that is what I want to address in this personal letter to you, as you're reading this.
Most people (and I mean a very high percentage of planners all over the world) tend to make plans on a yearly basis and we forget that there are 12 valuable months in that one year that require planning.
Let me quickly break it down so that you can understand the point that I'm trying to make here...
There are 12 months in a year, 4 weeks in a month, 7 days in a week, 24 hours in a day, 60 minutes in an hour and we also have 60 seconds in one minute.
My next question is, why then do we only focus on the biggest part of the equation and we neglect the tiniest piece of our lives?
But, let us not forget that those tiny pieces of our lives matter a lot in the achievement of our overall yearly plans; therefore we must consciously work out a plan for them too.
So, here is the challenge for you and I?
This year is going to be a great year for us but we need to have what I call "Second-ly Plan" (i.e. Plan for every second of the day).
I want to encourage you to create processes for you to achieve your "Second-ly plans", which will eventually add up to your overall yearly plan; while ensuring that you're able to measure your progress accordingly.
Journey through year 2017 with a Process-Driven Mindset, where all your plans must be achieved through determination, motivation and commitment.
This challenge is personal and requires your commitment to develop in the areas that you want to grow, this year.

LISTENING SKILLS.
Keys to listening effectively.
Not a lot of people listen, only a few actually understand what you're saying and why you've said what you must have said.
Why is it so difficult for people to grasp what they hear or what they've been told? It's because people find it very easy to hear but they find it difficult to listen.
What do I mean by people hearing you but they are not listening to you?
It takes great energy to listen to someone trying to pass a message across to you or when having a serious discussion. This energy is what most people don't want to extract from themselves in order to give an absolutely fulfilling concentration to any conversation.
Because I have encountered this issue of people not listening to you when you speak; though they claim that because they can hear what you are saying, it automatically means that they are actually listening; whereas it's the other way round.
In my own opinion, I think listening is not just the act of opening your ears to hear something but the essence of opening your mind to receive something tangible from the conversation and trying to grasp the most important aspect of the conversation, even if you're unable to grasp everything therein.
I have identified few keys that can boost our listening skills and they are listed below:
1.) Attention
2.) Focus
3.) Understanding
4.) Reproduction.
ATTENTION: It is absolutely useless to spend time talking about an issue with someone and that person is not giving attention to what you're saying, though they claim to be hearing you. It goes beyond just hearing but an extra effort must be applied in order to be attentive to what is been said. Only then will you be able to grasp the best out of that conversation or discussion. Attention does not only mean that you stare at the person having that conversation with you but it's a devoted effort of concentrating on the conversation and not just the speaker.
FOCUS: I can guarantee you that you can easily tell when people are focused on what you're saying to them or if they're just merely looking at you without any focus. It takes a concentrated mind to fully understand the deepest part of every conversation. The person that hears alone will only be scratching the surface while the one that focuses on listening very well has the advantage of gaining deeper knowledge of the discussion. To focus in a conversation is to extract the best of the conversation to the advantage of both the speaker and the receiver.
UNDERSTANDING: We tend to understand more when we make an effort to gain more knowledge about an issue of discussion. Because, we begin to research more or ask more questions about the issue, so that we can unravel hidden treasures. Understanding an issue is the ability to go to the foundation of that issue and dig out facts that help in resolving the issue. When we are full of understanding, we must have taken time and commitment to finding out facts from there; which means that we acquire more knowledge and awareness.
REPRODUCTION: It is a waste of knowledge and resources when you have gained a deeper understanding of a topic and you are unable to reproduce what you've learnt or what you now know about the subject. If you gave yourself to proper listening and grasping of facts about the subject, it will be easier for you to reproduce such learning and transfer it into other people by delivering it into their lives; so that they can also reproduce it into the lives of others. This ensures that what you've learnt stay in you for a longer time and will also enhance your understanding of the subject, as a result of further research that you'll do so as to be sure of your understanding of the subject. Reproduction is the end-result of listening effectively, in that you can't claim to understand a topic or discussion if you can't reproduce the vital portion of what has been discussed.
As we go about our daily activities, let us endeavour that what we hear goes beyond our hearings alone but we're sure to be listening to what has been discussed, so as to grasp the best part of the conversation.

GROWing, not Ageing
It's a new day and I would like to leave you with these words.
Ageing is mandatory but growing is optional.
When a man decides to GROW, he sets a Goal that is Realistic enough, with the Objective of not Withdrawing from his set of actions.
If we are to develop or improve in what we used to do or we want to be better in doing them, we need to set Goals that are Realistic and they must have the Objectives that will make us not to Withdraw from doing them.
Keep GROWing...

ATTITUDE MANAGEMENT.
In the face of difficulty or challenges that are beyond your expectation, attitude management plays a vital role in making sure that you engage a positive attitude, which invariably place you ahead of the circumstances and create an atmosphere where you're optimistic of a successful outcome.
In the words of Dennis Waitley, he said in a quote: "The winner's edge is not in a gifted birth, a high IQ, or in talent. The winner's edge is all in the attitude, not aptitude. Attitude is the criterion for success."
Your attitude not only create an expression on your face but goes deep down inside your mind to steer up the energy to forge ahead in executing that idea or dealing with that situation.
In other words, attitude is an internal force that produces a positive or negative outward expression...
Stay positive, stay motivated and manage your attitude positively.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS.
When we talk of competition, the first thing that comes to
mind is when two or more people are competing against each other but I will like
to expose us to the fact that competition can also be within one person and
that is the essence of this article.
But before I go any further, I will like to ask this
question.
What is competition?
"The dictionary obviously describes Competition as an act that involves two or more objects, in order to gain a profit or get a reward for being outstanding."
In as much as I would like to agree with this definition
above, I want to add that competition can also be practiced by one person alone
and let me briefly explain:
I describe competition as a way whereby you set a goal and
strive to achieve it, but this can be done by one person or among many people
at the same time. If you set a goal to be better than you were yesterday, you
have no choice than to compete with yourself or these
factors such as laziness, food, friends, discouraging words and other limiting
factors will set in and they would want to prevent you from achieving that
goal. When your mind is set to achieve a goal, you should place yourself around
those that can help you to achieve it; even though the competition is still for
you and for yourself alone.
In most cases, people tend to think of competition as a way whereby you stay ahead of other people or where you are competing with others to win a race but in the actual sense, competition goes beyond that and it should be an inward decision for a person/business to be competitive with its previous successes.
In most cases, people tend to think of competition as a way whereby you stay ahead of other people or where you are competing with others to win a race but in the actual sense, competition goes beyond that and it should be an inward decision for a person/business to be competitive with its previous successes.
Let me explain a little further...
For instance, an athlete is competing with other athletes and
they are all preparing for the same rac
e. I believe that, most of the times, it is the athlete that either practises more and prepares very well that ends up winning the race while others come behind. But what if they all decide not to practise at all because they feel that others wouldn’t practise as well or they are just mere lazy to stretch further in winning the race? Then it becomes obvious that the level of the competition is now determinant on the level of the preparation of all the competitors or athletes in the illustration above; but if you’re simply competing with yourself and not another person, then it becomes irrelevant whether someone else (i.e. your competitor/athlete) is practicing or not.

But what if they all decide not to practise at all because they feel that others wouldn’t practise as well or they are just mere lazy to stretch further in winning the race? It is therefore imperative that we all look inwardly and try
to only compete with our previous successes and achievements rather than
looking elsewhere for competitors or who to compete with. In whatever you do,
you must have achieved something before and your focus should be on how to do things
bigger and better on a daily basis and by the end of the year, you would look
back and realize that you’ve actually been stretching yourself to become
better. Your previous achievement should not be your finishing line but rather, it should be your starting point for greater things and that is where your own
personal competition starts from. In
your Goals
process, make your first great achievement to be your guideline to
other future achievements and ensure that you don’t go below that ACHIEVEMENT STANDARD that you’ve set
for yourself. It will also benefit you to develop a KPI (i.e. Metric) that
helps you to understand when you’re falling out of your ‘Achievement Standard’.
In the process of analysing your competition, it must be
based on your ‘Achievement Standard’ and if the achievement ascribe to any
competition is below your standard, then it is not the best option for you and
should not be given any priority.
Competitive analysis can also be described as a review
and analysis of all our competitions (both inward and outward), whether they
are past, present or future competitions.
There are two types of Competition.
- Inward competition: (i.e. Competition with self and within.)
- Outward competition: (i.e. Competition with others and without.)
There‘s always a motive behind every competition and the
reason must be genuine enough for you to embark on the journey of competing
with yourself or other people.
We must ensure that our past achievements in all previous
competitions do not surpass our present achievement, while the present
achievement doesn’t surpass the future ones... This is what I called, GROWING
UP STEADILY (GUS).
And I can also connect this article on Competitive analysis
to one of Abraham Lincoln’s numerous quotes: “I don’t think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was
yesterday.”
In conclusion, I want to believe that many people will now
agree with me that they should focus more on their own personal competition and
think less upon competing with other people or businesses. (i.e. Your competition
should be dependent on your past achievements.)
Analyze your competition wisely and you would not be
competing wrongly.
