Capacity to be the Captain for Greatness!!!

The birds in the sky have the capacity to fly higher than other animals, the fish has the capacity to swim better than any other animal that exist, while cheetah is also known as one of the animals that has the capacity to run faster that most of the other animals.
Human beings are the same but we all have different capacity to do different things at different times.
It is not the same way you did it last year that will always work for you; you just need to keep on trying different means & one of them will hit the main spot of your quest for greatness, if you are persistent. The capacity to do something will never come, unless you have the willingness to take the risk. A life without taking risk is a boring life, but remember to always be wise in taking those risks & weigh your options properly before venturing into it. I quote George Bernard Shaw when he said "Men are wise in proportion, not to their experience but to their capacity for experience" and I quote Napoleon Hill in the same way when he said "Your ability to use the principle of auto-suggestion will depend very largely upon your capacity to concentrate upon a given desire until that desire becomes a burning obsession."
Be a Captain of greatness.

Invest in Greatness!!!

The purpose of investment is to get a return. An investor is investing because he/she wants a return at the end of the investment period.

You can either invest you time for something or you invest your money for a certain return. You can also invest yourself into something that will yield a return or legacy, and you can also invest your skills and expertise to give you an achievement. Your return after such investment is your accomplishment.

There's no investment without a return, there's no sacrifice without a memory, there's no leadership without service.

Whoever sacrifices his/her life wants to be remembered and cherished for it.
A great leader wants an ultimate release of power and a great investor wants an addition of what has been put into investment and nothing less...

This goes to say that, there's a price you have to pay for every great achievement or accomplishment. If only you are extremely watchful of what you are investing in yourself today; which will lead to an expectation of greater tomorrow.
Invest wisely & you will be rewarded greatly.

The great investor Warren Buffet said and I quote "The investor of today does not profit from yesterday's growth.

Invest in yourself, invest in people, invest also in being diligent and you will be rewarded with greatness.

Great Attitude Meets Great Achievement!!!

The pets are welcome in our houses or around people because of their attitude towards us, while the wide animals are not embraced inside the house or among human beings because of their unfriendly & aggressive attitude towards us. Some plants are accepted as beautiful flowers because of their attractive appearance towards us.
If you would attain any greater height of success in this life, you can only be assessed base on your attitude towards your goal or ambition.
Greatness is for everyone but only those who are aspiring to be great will put in
great attitude, enthusiasm & passion to the process of doing great things.

"The greater your attitude, the easier it is, for you to attain greatness. Do not limit your attitude in achieving greatness"~Temitayo Oyediran.

The great professional basketball player Michael Jordan said and I quote "My attitude is that if you push me towards something that you think is a weakness, then I will turn that perceived weakness into strength" and I also quote the 3rd President of United State of America when he said "Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude."~Thomas Jefferson.
I will encourage us to put great attitude to the process of achieving great success, because it is a difference-maker.

Innovative Mind

There are ways to improve your level of innovation and there are ways you can enhance it, if you've already started to innovate.
We already know that innovation involves openess to new ways of doing things and because we are trying to do things differently, we also need to think differently.
I will give few points on how to improve our innovative minds.

I have FOUR points here that serve as the keys to embracing an innovative mind and they all start with letter 'V'.

  • Visualization - In this growing world of technology, we need to think ahead of the present stage and this does not only mean that we should think according to the trend of the existing products but we should also think outside of the trend; because in doing that, we can also bring something new into the existing trend, that noe one else is thinking about. Visualization is not only about viewing things with our visual senses but it goes beyond that and it involves engaging our imaginations. If our mind can imagine it, then our hands can provide the resources of executing it. And, let's not forget that imagination is the greatest tool of innovation.

  •  Visitation - It is in the process of visitation that you will come across a problem that needs solution and they you begin to think of ideas that can creat the solution. All the problems will not come and meet, but you need to go out there, take risks and face some problems that need solution; then you can  now start working on solving it. There is virtually nothing new in the world today, but the re-branding or re-structuring the existing ones and this goes to tell us that; the far you can go, the far you innovation senses can carry and store in your mind.

  •  Valuation - It is neccessary to value the idea that your mind generates. If you don't value it, it will be difficult to run it through to the end and people will only value any idea that you're trying to execute, based on the value that you've placed on it and not just the hard work that you've put into it. If it is valuable to you, then you will do anything possible to make it a reality, so that it can add value to other people too.

  • Verification - In every circumstance, it is neccessary to verify how you're doing with your idea and what level of execution process are you able to pass through. In the process of making sure that the product or service (innovation) meet the users' requirment, according to your analyzes.

There are many ways to enhance your innovative mind but we've been able to identify some of them as detailed above. The most important part of enhancing our minds for innovation is to STRETCH our minds extensively to embrace innovation.

Keep stretching your mind as you improve your innovative mind.

Appreciate to initiate.

"The root of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness."~Dalai Lama

They say when we appreciate the little, we create an opportunity to receive more.

I'll encourage you to appreciate life, appreciate what you have today as you fight ahead for a better tomorrow, appreciate your friends & family, because they are always there for you even when things don't go as you plan it.
When we appreciate, it initiates love, caring and respect. It's  something of deeper feelings and further engagement between two people; so appreciate more and you will be initiating a deeper level of communication beyond the surface.
Today is another opportunity for you to show that their impact in your life has made a big difference; so go ahead & show them that you also care for them, even as they care for you.

I appreciate you for who you are & what you're doing for & together with me. And that's why you're reading this!
Make it a point of duty for you to shower someone with a whole lot of appreciation today.
Good morning and have a wonderful weekend!

Questionable mindset.

"Asking questions is the secret of every good conversation; I'm curious about everything."-Larry King (Television Host) explained in his book, 'How to Talk to Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere.'

I'll begin by asking you this;

How are you feeling today?

Remember that your feelings affect your actions & decisions, which enhance your attitude to produce an outcome...

I implore you to please embrace a positive attitude, no matter the circumstance and you will be motivated for something great.
I feel great today!!!

So, go ahead and tell me; how do you feel???

INNOVATOR'S DNA TEST

As the world is experiencing globalization and businesses are looking for ways to response to these changes, it is very neccessary and imperative that we embrace innovation in all that we do as businesses or individuals.
To consider yourself as an innovator or if you have the innovator's DNA, these are some of the many questions you might genuinely want to ask yourself.
These questions not only help you to understand your innovation level but will also expose you to the possibility of becoming innovative; even if you never thought of yourself as being innovative.

Hal Gregersen and Jeff Dyer interviewed many CEOs of large organizations, who are also Innovators of their different companies and they concluded that many of these Innovators possess these skills;

1.) Discovery skills (Innovators)
2.) Delivery skills (Executors)
3.) Intermediate skills (Developers)

Innovators possess discovery skills to generate new ideas and Executors are there to execute those new ideas, while the Developers merge the generation of new ideas with the execution of those ideas.

Which one of these skills above do you possess?
If none, try this 5-question assessment test for Innovators below and see how you can enhance your innovative mind by engaging some or all of these questions.

1. Do you ask questions?
2. Do you observe things?
3. Do you network with great minds or like minds?
4. Do you experiment things to find out new ways of doing them?
5. Do you engage yourself in associational thinking?

These questions are not to discourage you but to encourage you to be more innovative, by engaging yourself in doing these things.

So, my next question is... Are you an Innovator, Executor or a Developer?
What skill set do you possess as an Entrepreneur, Professional or even as a Student?
Leave your comments below and I hope to connect with you...

MOTIVATIONAL FORCE!!!

To understand motivational force, we must first agree that force is an influence that produces a change on an object and motivation also is an influence that helps people to make the move or to be in motion.

Let's look at few things about making the move toward achieving progress. I believe we all agree that motivation involves energy and we must use the energy, which is our ability or capacity to apply forces for movement. So therefore, if we have to be motivated or we want to motivate people, we have to apply the force that will move them from where they are to where they ought to be.

I will not agree less with the great physician, Isaac Newton, who stated his second law of motion as this: "The change of momentum of a body is proportional to the impulse impressed on the body, and happens along the straight line on which that impulse in impressed".
Simply put, it means that if a force generates a motion, then a double force will generate double the motion and so on.

If you've ever been beside a pregnant woman when she's in labour, you would agree with me that she's an expectant woman but at the same time, she's in pain trying to deliver the baby. And because of the pain, there's need for her to encourage herself to forcefully look beyond the pain and just deliver the baby. You will also notice that the word 'PUSH' is repeatedly mentioned by the people in the delivery room and this is meant to serve as an external 'Motivation force' that would make her apply more energy to birth the baby. On the other hand, we would observe that there's little or no such thing as an external 'Motivational force' for most of the animals when they're trying to deliver their babies, because their fellow animals may not know how best to motivate them at this stage; so these pregnant animal will perpetually have to remind themselves to make use of their internal 'Motivation force', in order to deliver their babies safely.

We would also understand from the above illustration that the process of applying motivational forces to deliver the babies by bo
human beings and animals is not just a physical process but a mental process. It must penetrate into their inside and its effect would be seen or felt on the outside.

One of the greatest psychologists, Abraham Maslow used this word 'MetaMotivation' to describe the way that self-actualized people motivate themselves with innate forces beyond their basic needs, in other to go extra-mile beyond the ordinary people. In his book 'Hierarchy of needs', Maslow also explained his 'Motivation theory' that human beings are motivated by unsatisfied needs, and certain lower factors need to be satisfied before higher needs can be satisfied.

It is believed that motion is a change of state and behind any motion for achievement, there must be a force; which means that every change of state will have to involve motion and must be backed up by motivation force.

We can now conclude by saying that the motion towards satisfying our needs or achieving our goals in life can be enhanced or improved
by effective motivation and the motivational force behind this motion is mentality coordinated and not physical; hence the reason why we have to merge our internal motivational force with external motivational force to deliver great achievements.

Be motivated for greatness!!!

Believe your words to understand your world.

"Have an understanding so that there won't be a misunderstanding. You must be able to see something clearly in your mind before you can say it clearly with your mouth." ~ Charles Blair.

In some cases, people want to see you before they believe what you say but in most cases, people want to believe what you say before they can see you.

In whatever case it is, the most important part of any conversation is that you must believe what you want to say before you say what you believe and that is understanding.

In as much as your words are right for your target audience, it would be convenient for the audience to see through your words and understand what you believe. Make constant effort to convince yourself that you're saying the right thing and admit it when you've deviated. From this, you build up the confidence to engage anyone listening to you when you talk.
Besides, your words describe who you are; so it is important to understand what you want to say even before you say them.

I will finish by asking you this;
What are you saying today?
Do you really understand it and do you also believe it?

Energy Disposal.

The law of conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but it can be changed into different forms.

In order words, your energy disposal should be proportional to your value delivery and vision accomplishment. If it doesn't go together with your vision, it needs not extract more of your energy and you should better focus more on those things that perpetually contribute towards the accomplishment of your goal.

Let me briefly explain simple but unique features of a lion.
A lion will never go after its prey unless its hungry and when that happens, it does everything possible by applying all the tactics of killing the prey. Lions don't go hunting alone, they have a strategy of hunting as a team (i.e. more than two lions).

In an attempt to make a dream come true, the greater part of our energy must be directed towards the good cause of the dream & it starts by taking the right steps today and also networking with the right set of people that are focusing on great things as well.

Niccolo Machiavelli said in a quote: "Who so ever desires constant success must be willing to change his conduct with the times."

It takes energy to convince yourself that you need a change and it also takes energy to implement that change. In order to develop the right attitude for every situation you find yourself, you can either change what you can or adjust to what you can't change, simply because you've already tried it many times and found an alternative way to go about it.

As always, I would like to ask you this...

What are you trying to change today, that would make you channel all your energy and ensure that you achieve your desired outcome?

I challenge you to take up few steps today that will propel you to the cause of your dream and focus your energy towards that good cause.
Go for it and go get it...

You can leave your comment here below this page and I look forward reading your lovely comments.

MOTIVATION

Motivation on its own is not the art of doing something but the means of being influenced or inspired to do what needs to be done.
There are things to be considered for effective motivation.

3 Keys to effective motivation.
·         Mission
·         Move
·         Mind

These are the keys to effective motivation. In order for the ‘Motivator’ to inspire the ‘Motivatee’ (i.e. a person to be motivated), there must be a reason behind the action and that is what I call MISSION. People don’t just respond to changes but they need to be given the reasons to do so and that is why both the ‘Motivator’ and ‘Motivatee’ need to be highly motivated, in order to achieve a successful level of motivation. While motivation is good, the motive behind it is paramount and must not be neglected.
In accordance to MISSION, there must be a MOVE to justify the reasons for your actions. When a leader of a company/organization wants a work done, he or she must be willing to take the company through a change(s), which would definitely involve some forms of actions to be taken. The leader needs to take the employees of the company through a journey of achieving the vision for the company. It is often said that it’s impossible to motivate, if we ourselves are not motivated. That means anyone can motivate, as long the person is motivated enough to motivate others. So then, what does it really mean to motivate? It simply means that the more you do, the more others will see you do and the more they will want to join you in achieving your aim for the task. We cannot motivate if we do not engage in doing...
Let me give an illustration of a jockey riding a horse for a horse racing. In order for the two of them to come out as the winner of the race, it’s impossible for the jockey to do the running alone with his own legs, so then he needs to drive the horse to run faster and win the race; hence he needs to understand the horse, communicate (directly or indirectly) to the horse to move faster. We would observe that the more the jockey beat the horse, the more it moves faster but it can get to a point where the horse will get tired, so the jockey needs to have an understanding of the horses’ endurance level and not push it beyond the limit. This is just a simple illustration of how we human beings can motivate others to do more, when we ourselves are engaged in doing. I remember the quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson (Champion of individualism), which says: “Our chief want is someone who will inspire us to be what we know we could be.” The horse knows that it can run, but it would need a jockey to drive it to run faster and win a race.

Let’s quickly jump to the last point of effective motivation, which is MIND. It is the mind that enhances motivation, which drives every other part of the body. I will say, a motivated mind is a motivated body. If you are motivated from the inside, it will quickly and obviously reflect on the outside. While many people are focusing on the effects of motivation to be seen on the outside, it would have to complete the process of inner motivation. The difference between inner motivation and outer motivation is that one is temporary while the other one could be permanent, if maintained and controlled properly. If the mind of an individual is motivated towards success, even if the success does not come as early as possible; the drive to succeed will keep pushing him until it comes but if the person is only motivated on the outside, the MIND (inner motivation) is not strong enough to handle the waiting, so it will break down and give up (i.e. temporary motivation).
It is possible to be the ‘Motivator’ and the ‘Motivatee’, if one can easily motivate himself/herself to have a change of mind that will move for change.

I strongly recommend that you motivate yourself, to motivate someone today.
What are your ways of effective motivation?
Share them with me here and I look forward to reading your comments...
